Stop Living in Fear with System Restore

After an error has occurred, start the System Restore utility. To do so:

  1. Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then System Restore.

  3. Click Next. You will be prompted to select a restore point, the utility will present you with various options in a calendar format.

  4. Click through the dates to see the existing restore points. These restore points appear as System Checkpoints.
  5. Select the desired restore point and click Next, then confirm the restore point and click Next again.
    Upon clicking Next, System Restore will close all programs and proceed with the restoration process. The computer will reboot.

  6. Log back on, and the Restoration Complete screen will appear to confirm the restoration process.

    Troubleshooting Tips:
    If a restoration process is unable to resolve your system’s problem, System Restore allows you to select another restore point or undo the previous restoration.
