Network Cabling



When we install your network cabling in your office, we will not just run it through the ceiling trying to save our time and cable. Instead, we carefully plot our cabling to ensure that it is uniform and neat both inside the walls and ceiling and also at the MDF (Main Distribution Facility) where it is terminated to a patch panel. We will also avoid running the cable near high voltage cabling and fluorescent lighting which is known to increase electromagnetic interference on network cabling. Additionally, we will ensure that additional cabling remains for expansion in the future for both voice and data and that we adhere to industry standard cabling practices that the EIA/TIA networking standards groups have established for the computer industry.

Cat-5e is the type of cabling that we use which provides your network with enough speed and bandwidth to accomplish any heavier work loads that your network must accomplish. This type of cabling, when installed properly can deliver information between the MDF and client systems at speeds up to 200Mbits/second when running in 100Base-T Full Duplex mode. Cat-5e is a better kind of cable that comes with 4 pairs (8 wires) that run through the cable. Additionally these pairs are twisted to enable faster communication through the cable between the MDF and your workstations or network printers. This cable uses two of the four pairs to provide the connection between your network and computer system and the other two pairs are used to cancel out any electromagnetic interference that may try to penetrate the network cabling.

In case you are unaware, it is recommended by the EIA/TIA that voice and data lines are replaced every 7 to 10 years to guarantee the best performance on each line between the MDF and connected client device.
